The Mickleover Running Club Time Trial is a handicap race where by the runner with the slowest completed time leads off the race followed by the next slowest and so on until the fastest runner to previously complete the course sets off.
Due to the way the Mickleover Running Club Time Trial is run anybody who takes part has a chance to take home the prestigious M.R.C Time Trial Trophy.
The Time Trial Course is run over two courses, a summer course, run approximately during British Summer and a winter course run during GMT.
MRC Winter Time Trial
The winter Time Trial Route starts from Greenside Crescent and proceeds clockwise toward Inglewood Road and finishes at the Honeycomb pub.
The Mickleover Time Trial is held over a 5k course.
Whilst the course does not require anybody to cross any roads there are a number of road junctions on route and so all runners are reminded to take care when approaching and crossing these junctions.
The gun will fire at 19:15:00 at which point the first runner on the running order will start.
Should the first runner on the running order not be present the next runner on the running order must wait until their start time before they can start.
Runners shall be notified 30 seconds before they are due to start.
Runners on the Start Line will be given a 5 seconds count in to their start time.
Should a runner arrive after their start time they may still race but their time will be counted from their scheduled start time and not from their actual start time.
The first runner to cross the line will be declared the winner.
In the cases where a winner is too close to call, the runner within the winning group, who made the greatest improvement to their PB or, if no winner improved on their PB, the runner closest to their PB shall be declared the winner.
Only a runner who has previously completed an MRC Time Trial may be declared the winner.
Should a runner not have a previous MRC Time Trial PB they can provide a predicted time to the Race Organiser who will then provide the runner with a Start Time.
